Phasmophobia

Phasmophobia throws you and up to three friends into the role of amateur ghost hunters, heading into houses, prisons, asylums, and other eerie spots where things really do go bump in the night. The task sounds simple enough — grab your gear, gather proof of the paranormal, and get out alive. Of course, once the lights start flickering and the doors slam shut, simple goes out the window.

Every hunt plays out differently. With more than 20 ghost types, you never really know what you’re walking into. Some spirits toy with you, draining your sanity with small tricks, while others stalk you without mercy until it’s too late. To stand a chance, you’ll need EMF readers, spirit boxes, thermometers, cameras — or, if you’re brave (or foolish), you can poke at cursed items for extra clues. And remember: they can hear you. Say their name out loud, whisper a challenge, or mess with a Ouija board, and you might regret it.

Teamwork decides whether you make it back. You can run headfirst into danger, calling out every shadow and strange sound, or hang back in the safety of the truck, scanning CCTV feeds and motion sensors while your friends lose their nerve inside. Custom game modes, weekly challenges, and difficulty options keep the tension fresh no matter how many hunts you’ve survived.

Play it in VR for the full “heart pounding out of your chest” effect, or stick to standard play — either way, Phasmophobia doesn’t let you relax. Your nerves, your voice, and your instincts are all part of the game.
