You’ll decide how to spend your precious budget—do you invest in guard towers and armed patrols, or build a rehab wing with workshops and classrooms? The wrong choice could spark a fire, flood, or full-scale riot. Every inmate comes with a unique criminal history, personality, and needs, meaning no two cells (or days) are ever the same.

Hire skilled staff—psychologists to keep tempers in check, doctors to patch up the wounded, lawyers to keep lawsuits away, and maybe even a few “snitches” to stay one step ahead of the gangs. Federal grants can fund your expansions, but with each upgrade comes more responsibility and new threats.

Feeling daring? Switch sides in Escape Mode and try breaking out of your own iron fortress. Or take your skills online, testing your design against over 12,000 player-made prisons. And if you dream bigger, Sandbox Mode lets you expand without limits, crafting the ultimate high-security empire.
