Welcome to Anno 117: Pax Romana, the Roman Empire’s grandest builder yet.

The emperor’s handed you a province in need of a firm hand and a clear vision. You’re not just laying roads and placing buildings — you’re deciding how an entire region of the empire will rise or fall. It’s a big job, Governor. Ready or not, you’re in charge.

Your first stop is Latium, a scenic island with blue shores and thick forests — charming on the surface, but full of hard choices underneath. This is where you learn the ropes. Dirt roads might look plain now, but they’re the backbone of your city. Build wide, narrow, curved — it’s your call. Go for beauty, go for function, or try to balance both.

Resources matter more than marble statues. Chop too many trees and your timber supply dries up. Place your lumber camps poorly and you’ll clog your roads, slow production, and trigger a chain reaction that leaves your bakeries cold and your citizens angry. Warehouses aren’t glamorous, but they’re the difference between a thriving economy and chaos.

Your citizens aren’t robots. They’ve got needs, preferences, and, frankly, opinions. Markets pull people in. Taverns keep them cheerful. Bakeries feed the hungry but, yes, they also catch fire — a lot. Lavender smells nice. Pig farms, less so. Design your neighborhoods with care. You want prosperity, but not at the cost of livability.

Put down your villa in the middle of it all. Not just for prestige — it tells your people you’re with them. As they advance, new buildings unlock: libraries, bathhouses, colosseums. Entertainment and culture become demands, not luxuries. You’ll feel it — the shift when your humble town starts to feel like something more.

And then, just when things settle, the empire starts poking in. Trade routes. Diplomacy. Rival governors. Pirates. A few will smile at your olive branch; others will bring warships. Don’t trust the ocean to protect you — arm your harbors, watch your trade routes, and know that the wrong handshake could cost you everything.

SkipTheGame brings this full experience directly to your screen, and believe us, it’s the kind of game you don’t just play — you govern. And governance means making judgment calls, not just following prompts. You won’t get blinking arrows here. Want to worship Neptune? Enjoy faster ships. Prefer Mars? Your legions hit harder. Your island’s fate isn’t just about layout and logistics — it’s about belief, culture, and power.

Some islands don’t take kindly to Roman flags. Albion, for instance. The Celts still hold their traditions, and they’re not interested in being another red dot on your map. Will you work with them? Assimilate them? Or burn their resistance to the ground? There’s no universal right answer — only what you’re willing to live with.

Mission 1: Establish Your Settlement in Latium

Your journey kicks off on the sunlit shores of Latium, one of the Empire’s quieter provinces — for now. This first mission eases you in with foundational objectives:

  • Lay down basic roads (grids or organic paths — your call)

  • Build a lumber camp and sawmill to kickstart construction

  • Set up housing blocks and a marketplace to attract early settlers

The Emperor’s watching — and so are your people.

Mission 2: Stabilize Logistics & Production

Once basic needs are met, it’s time to scale. This mission emphasizes:

  • Resource flow: set up warehouses and optimize supply chains

  • Balancing charm and function (lavender gardens vs. smelly pig farms)

  • Introducing minor trade routes for hard-to-source items

Think like a builder, but plan like a politician.

Mission 3: Infrastructure, Upgrades & Social Class

With the basics ticking over, new social classes begin to unlock — and they’re a bit more demanding.

  • Build a bathhouse, taverns, and even your villa (you’ve earned it)

  • Citizens start expecting public services and entertainment

  • Your first school opens, unlocking early tech progress

Also, keep an eye on the fire risk. Bakeries love setting half the city on fire.
